So far what i have done is.

    sudo rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/*

    then

    sudo apt-get update

But that fixed it for a sec..then it went back to it.

      Hi Ork, and all,

Have/ had the same error crap, use the installed app – under preferences – Software Sources

There’s a Maintenance tab with a Fix Merge-list option. Click that and it will fix it well enough to run the Update or Package manager. The medibuntu repos is still broken though.
      Perhaps remove it.

So its starting to look like a bad GPG error from http://packages.medibuntu.org/dists/raring/.

W: GPG error: http://archive.ubuntu.com raring Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG 40976EAF437D05B5 Ubuntu Archive Automatic Signing Key
W: Failed to fetch http://packages.medibuntu.org/dists/raring/Release.gpg Something wicked happened resolving ‘packages.medibuntu.org:http’ (-11 – System error)

wonder if it is something i have to wait for..or i could possibly fix myself.

So apparently medibuntu.org is no longer working. Here is the solution.

    gksu gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

look for this line “deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ raring free non-free” or something simular.

We are going to replace it with any of these three (Or just comment this line out, and add a new one underneath of it.)

    deb http://mirrors.ucr.ac.cr/medibuntu/ lucid free non-free

    deb http://mirror.oscc.org.my/medibuntu/ lucid free non-free

    deb ftp://ftp.leg.uct.ac.za/pub/linux/medibuntu/ lucid free non-free

if you need the source repos, then add deb-src to the same lines underneath the deb lines like so.

    deb http://mirrors.ucr.ac.cr/medibuntu/ lucid free non-free
    deb-src http://mirrors.ucr.ac.cr/medibuntu/ lucid free non-free

since i am on linux mint 15, i replaced where it says lucid to raring.

deb ftp://ftp.leg.uct.ac.za/pub/linux/medibuntu/ lucid free non-free seemed to work well for me.

  4. orkultus says:

OK…no more errors after sudo apt-get update.

    i did this.

    sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

    commented out a few things.

#deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ olivia main upstream import
    #deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ raring-security main restricted universe multiverse
    #deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/ raring partner

so apparently those are somewhere else in apts lists.
